Spanish Association for Standardization, UNE

UNE backs AMEC’s Positive Industry declaration and highlights its commitment to Spanish industry

Private entity
UNE is Spain’s sole standardisation body and, as such, has been designated by the Spanish Administration. In this regard, UNE is the Spanish representative in the international ISO/IEC and European CEN/CENELEC bodies. Similarly, it is ETSI’s national standardisation body.
Core values
By developing standardisation and international cooperation, UNE contributes to the competitiveness and safety of companies, their products and services and processes, protecting people, consumers and the environment, integrating people with disabilities, fostering social responsibility and improving business risk control, thus driving the achievement of business excellence and the well-being of society.
More on this
Standardisation helps industry to respond effectively to its major current challenges in digital transformation, green transition, sustainability, internationalisation and good governance.

Recommendation by Javier García, Managing Director of UNE

The Spanish Association for Standardisation, UNE, wishes to express its support for AMEC‘s Positive Industry declaration.

At UNE, we share our commitment to Spanish industry with AMEC, along with the need to highlight the unique value that a strong and competitive industry brings to society and to Spain’s economic recovery.

Since its origins, standardisation has played a key role for Spanish industrial sectors, ensuring their safety, competitiveness and efficiency of production. Standards were founded in connection with industry and, today, the Spanish standards catalogue continues to be chiefly industrial, representing 77% of the total.

Standardisation helps industry to respond effectively to its major current challenges in digital transformation, green transition, sustainability, internationalisation and good governance.

Similarly, I would like to highlight the essential role of UNE’s members: upwards of 500 members representing practically the entire Spanish fabric, of the likes of AMEC, a member of its Board of Directors which makes a valuable contribution.

Congratulations AMEC for this wonderful initiative!
