At UNE, we share our commitment to Spanish industry with AMEC, along with the need to highlight the unique value that a strong and competitive industry brings to society and to Spain’s economic recovery.
Since its origins, standardisation has played a key role for Spanish industrial sectors, ensuring their safety, competitiveness and efficiency of production. Standards were founded in connection with industry and, today, the Spanish standards catalogue continues to be chiefly industrial, representing 77% of the total.
Standardisation helps industry to respond effectively to its major current challenges in digital transformation, green transition, sustainability, internationalisation and good governance.
Similarly, I would like to highlight the essential role of UNE’s members: upwards of 500 members representing practically the entire Spanish fabric, of the likes of AMEC, a member of its Board of Directors which makes a valuable contribution.
Congratulations AMEC for this wonderful initiative!
